Everynow and then I am surprised

Once every couple months or so I am impressed or surprised by a story.  Gil Meche, Royal’s pitcher, walked away from the remainder of his contract.  He had 12 million more due to him this year and he felt that he did not deserve it.  A pitcher that said he felt guilty because he can not pitch at the same high level as he could when he earned the contract.  After the injury to...

End of the week is upon us

Long rough week.  Work was tough, girls were sick, puppies crapped in the house.  Today both girls are returning to school so hopefully we are on the road to recovery. Brooke has a choir concert tonight but doesn’t think she can sing! We are getting a guest player for the tournament this weekend to play in the goal.  This should be a good tournament.  We are down in Sugarland at the Eclipse Tournament.  Last...

Sickness strikes

January 25, 2011

Brooke went down hard on Sunday.  After the game she slept on the couch complaining that she wasn’t feeling well.  Later that evening her temperature was in the low 100s.  She stayed on the couch all day Monday with Trena.  Still sick Tuesday morning.  A couple of her friends had a 3 days fever and sore throat attack from school.  So we are hoping for the best. Becs went to Texas Sports Medicine last...

Clash 98 Game.

Still playing around with zoom lens.  I needed to put more focus into the pictures.  I was more interested in watching Becca play.  I haven’t seen her in so long that I found myself watching the game during the action and taking pictures when the actions were over.  I’ll do a better job next time around.

The zoom lens has been removed from the box

All weekend long we jumped back into soccer.   Early mornings, coffee, cold temperatures, smelly dogs, and my new zoom lens.  I busted it out in the freezing morning to try it out a bit.  I must admit this was not the best time to try the lens because I haven’t seen soccer in  so long that I found the camera being held up while I watched the games without taking photos! A few shots...

Weekend is upon us

Boy am I ready for the weekend.  Work was a killer today. Aunt Cindy goes into surgery tomorrow.  We wish you the best Cindy and we are all thinking about you. Around lunchtime I walked outside at work and noticed that there was a cool wind blowing in from the north.  I am in short-sleeves and enjoying the 60 degree weather.  I guess I didn’t listen to the little fella on the news this...

Soccer Season

January 19, 2011

I love spring/winter soccer in Houston.  It tends to rain and rain sometimes its freezing rain.  The season practice scheduled was supposed to start Tuesday night.  A few hours before practice it was canceled due to rain. The first weekend scheduled is for this weekend.  We have a tournament for Becca.  Brooke was asked to guest play with another team so both girls get to try out their new field player gloves!  It is...

The Process

The birth of the new and improved C. Bowie Photography feels like a birth… Well, I am not sure what a birth feels like and I am sure that when my lovely wife reads this she will “roll her eyes”.  This happens often.   Lets just say that this is one painful undertaking I am have embarked upon. The website is coming along very slowly.  www.cbowiephoto.com I have honestly spent the entire MLK holiday sitting...

New puppies join the Bowie Family

New puppies join the Bowie Family

Santa thought about bringing puppies to the Bowie girls but we knew that we would be traveling to Arkansas to visit family on the 26th of December.  If we had two puppies where would we stash them? This was a problem that perplexed me.  The girls really wanted a new dog after Cotton died.  Trena and I kept telling them that our lives were too busy to raise dogs.  They cried, begged, sniffled, etc… ...
