I have read all three books of the Hunger Games. I admit, I was caught up in the story. I have bragged about it to all those that will listen. Got my daughters involved in reading it. My wife is now reading the 1st book. My sister borrowed books 2 and 3 this afternoon. I am an “official” Hunger Games fan.
Becs went to see it last weekend with a group of friends and I didn’t get to watch it with her. On one hand it was great to see my oldest daughter growing up and taking in a movie with her buddies. And on the other, It was horrible and sad and depression and I don’t think I can handle her growing up and taking in a movie with her buddies! This is Becs and Dad time. We see movies together. Not anyone else! Oh, the joys of being a parent. Goes back to that statement that I have said time and time again. “Having kids is like allowing our heart to run around outside your body.”
Well… back to the story!
I took Becs and Brooke to see the Hunger Games this weekend (so! it’s a week later than the release). I absolutely loved it!
Katniss being played by Jennifer Lawrence is a smashing success! I wasn’t that thrilled with Peeta’s actor. Woody was great as Haymitch..
The story line of drawing all ages of fans together is what makes this movie work. Now, if I can just get my father to read the book. That will be a challenge.
