Magnolia Lady Bulldog Soccer continued…

It has been ten days since I last posted about the Magnolia Lady Bulldog Soccer.  I thought that I would just enjoy the ride (as I said in the last post) and then post a final blog entry with the results of our season.  Well, the girls had other plans..  They KEEP WINNING!!!! Never before in school history has the soccer team won so many games!  I am sitting here drinking coffee and searching...

Magnolia Lady Bulldog Soccer

What a ride our oldest daughter, Rebecca, has taken us on this school year!  As many of you know, Becca is a freshman at Magnolia High School.  She has played soccer since she was a wee-child and competitively played for many years with a select club.  The club had it’s ups and downs but one thing you can sure say is it created a great little soccer player in Rebecca.  If you scan back...

Magnolia Soccer

So far this year is our first of 6 years in Magnolia High School Soccer.  My oldest, Becca, is a freshman and the starting left back on the team.  She plays almost all of the minutes of the game and does a fairly decent job.  I was a little concerned about a 14 year old going against some of the top 17-18 year old forwards.  I knew she had the skills but just not...

Wambach Can Take A Punch!!

Two games played for the USA Women’s Soccer team = 2 wins. The first game against France was a hard one to watch.   We went down 0-2 before coming back to win 4-2.  Led by the always talented and beautiful Alex Morgan with 2 goals.   The second game against Colombia was a war!  The referee forgot her whistle in the locker room I can only assume???  Throughout most of the game, which was...

Olympics in London – Girls Soccer

I still can’t get over the fact that the USA Mens Soccer team was not good enough to get into the Olympics.  This is heartbreaking.  Today, I watched the girls in their warm-up friendly against Canada.  It was fun to see the girls back together.  I often contribute the success of this blog to Hope Solo and the girls on the US Women’s Soccer Team.  When I first posted an article on Hope Solo...

Soccer Saga – The hearbreak of the State Championship

It was a rough weekend.  Becca and I drove to San Marcus to win a state championship as you have read on the previous post.  Becca and I had a great drive, dinner, social aspect before the games but the games themselves were a completely different story. As I have expressed before, Rebecca is on this team to try to build some leadership skills.  With the risk of sounding cocky, Becca is and should...

State Championship Tournament

How many of you can claim to be ‘State Champions’?  It doesn’t matter what the sport, the event, the competition… How many of you are winners at the state level?  Whenever I hear, “Lets win STATE” or “State Champs”, etc… I think of Texas High School Football.  It was the ultimate dream for young men to go to state and win the whole thing.  You kinda get a little flutter feeling in your gut...

Alex Morgan Poses Naked in a Body Paint Bikini

As many of you know that follow this blog, we hit it big with the USA Women’s Soccer.  My posts on Hope Solo and Alex Morgan boosted my hits per day from 300 avg to over 9,000 a day.  So… I was a little pumped to hear that Alex Morgan has decided to pose in a ‘body paint bikini’ in this years Sports Illustrated Swim Suit Issue. SI released their first picture:  Thanks to...

2011 MLS Cup

Half time and I am sitting here thankful that The Dynamo was able to hold off the attack from the Galaxy.  The left side of our team is falling apart.  We need to get some balls into Ching. We have a great defender with Bobby Boswell And I love the goalkeeper, Tally Hall Its really tough without our best midfielder Brad Davis.  Hopefully we can hand on to Beckham and Keane.  What is one...

Hope Solo says adios to Dancing With Stars

Hope Solo had been sent home from the ABC hit show, Dancing With the Stars.  I have to admit that I tuned in to see Hope.  Hope is a favorite of mine and I hoped that she would show well in the competition.  I truly feel she did a good job.  It cracked me up to hear about the complaints or criticisms that she was given by the judges, “too manly, too strong in...
