So far this year is our first of 6 years in Magnolia High School Soccer. My oldest, Becca, is a freshman and the starting left back on the team. She plays almost all of the minutes of the game and does a fairly decent job. I was a little concerned about a 14 year old going against some of the top 17-18 year old forwards. I knew she had the skills but just not the experience. But I can honestly say that she has yet to be “exposed”. She has held her own and stopped the best she has faced. She told me the other day that not a single forward she has marked all year has scored against her team. In fact our record today stands at 10-3-2 and only 3 goals have scored against us. Not bad for a freshman left back and a freshman goalkeeper (her buddy). Of course she is helped by one of the senior captains playing sweeper and another captain playing stopper or center mid. So… But I am proud of what she has done and look forward to the last half of the season and the next 3 with her. Don’t forget Brooke who will play in 2 years.
But this isn’t a blog about the success of my kiddos. This is about life and photography. So I will return to the subject now.
Soccer is a great sport to photograph due to the fact there is great lighting and some great expressions the girls make… Here are a few samples.
