Summer League Champs

Brooke is involved in a ton of sports this summer.  Becca is sticking with just soccer.  Both girls go to speed camp each morning (Monday-Thursday) ALL summer long.  Becca has to go to the high school that consists of 87 students.  8 of them are girls.  The rest are large male football players.  When Becca went this past Wednesday, she was the only girl that was there.  It was intimidating for her to say the least.  But she keeps going.  1 hour of running, dragging sleds, sprints, and 1 hour of lifting weights.  Brooke on the other hand is at the Junior High and she has a ton of friends that are with her.  Its funny to hear them come home and talk about being sore in different parts of their bodies than they are used to. One of Brooke’s sports has been the BASKETBALL summer league.  This is Brooke’s new favorite sport.  She loves it.  Her soccer background helps her play point guard and run the offense.  She really shines on defense.  Her best friend, also Brooke, is a soccer buddy and excels at the sport as well.  Teamed up with her other good friend, Lexi, they have joined a couple other girls that should make-up the top players going into junior high.  Picking one or two of the best players off each of the other teams should leave them with a great solid “A” team next year.  Maybe many years to come… When Brooke and Brooke put pressure on the ball few teams can handle it.   Being a true father-fan, I tried to keep up with her stats for the tournament.  This is the best I could remember: Game 1  – We won 36 – 2  (Brooke had 16 points, 5 assists, 6 steals) Game 2 – We won 24-20 or something close… Against an 8th grade team that was very large!  (Brooke 2 pts, 4 assists, 8 steals) Game 3 – Buzzer beater wins the game. (Brooke had 4 pts, 5 assists, 4 steals)   I realize that I will not be able to keep stats!!  I always thought I could keep up with it but its a headache.  In soccer it was easy.  1 goal, 2 assists… 0 goals, 3 assists  typical stats for Brooke.  Becca plays center defense so I kept up with how many girls she put on their ass.
