USA Women’s Soccer – GOLD!!!

We did it!! We took it to Japan.  Redemption. Last summer the world was glued to the televisions to watch Hope Solo and the rest of the women’s team try and win the World Cup.  We made it to the finals only to be defeated by a great little Japan team. As the world of fate will have it we ended up facing Japan in the Gold Metal Match in the 2012 London Olympics!!  This was out game.  Abby Wambach has a great quote, “I will leave all my human-beeness on the field.”  I am not a spelling-b champ but I do believe that is not a word.  Even if it is I wouldn’t know how to spell it.  BUT let me tell you, the meaning bounces around in my soul.  Abby is a warrior and she proved it in these Olympics. Everyone knows that Hope Solo was due some fabulous saves.  Alex Morgan would be causing havoc for the Japan back line.  Carly Lloyd would blister in some 30 yard shots… This was everything I hoped it would be and more. Congratulations girls.  You earned our respect, our appreciation, and our admiration.  I am proud to be a fan of you.
